Congratulations to the Ballard High School Video Production Program! Seven of their student-created works took home prizes at the 15th Annual Derek Freese High School Film Festival in Philadelphia on December 11. Hosted by Temple University, the festival attracts entries from across the country and is judged by acclaimed filmmakers and professors from TU’s School of Film & Media Arts . Ballard High School filmmakers swept the Documentary category, winning First Prize for their film Bar Ink, Second Prize for Henry, and Third Prize for Seattle Street Musicians. Spilt Mind, was also awarded Best Documentary Screenplay. In the Fiction category, Ballard High School won First Prize for Buy, Sell, Trade and Second Prize for Real World, while their work, Signs, won for Best Fiction Screenplay.
