Street performers at Pike Place Market face a proposed rule change that would mean less change in their pockets. Its aim is to ease congestion during peak times, but market musicians say the cost is too high. City officials say it’s all about crowd control. Right now the only time musicians at Pike Place Market have to face out into the street is on weekends during the summer months. But proposed new rules would have them facing out every day during the summertime and on weekends the rest of the year – peak times for performers trying to make a buck.
