Prominent nightlife figure and member of the Seattle City of Music Commission, Dave Meinert, demonstrates his importance to the Seattle scene in today’s issue of The Seattle Times. From Capitol Hill Block Party organizer to bar owner to political voice, Meinert has “’changed the conversation in this town.’” The article explains, “Meinert serves a higher purpose in a city and region undergoing head-spinning change. He’s a preservationist of sorts, guardian of a rumpled sensibility that screams ‘Seattle.’” The piece also features our own James Keblas discussing his old friend and their work together.
