Bilocal Project
Local non-profit Essential Arts is launching an innovative new program that will unite musicians, filmmakers and artists from Seattle and New Orleans in an effort to create new works about the nature of community. The project, entitled “Bilocal: Seattle/New Orleans,” kicks off this November here in Seattle with a series of exhibitions before reconvening next April in New Orleans to bring everything full-circle. After April, a new “Bilocal” program will be announced, pairing Seattle with another city, another community. Filmmaker Ben Kasulke and songwriter/pianist Robin Holcomb are slated to represent Seattle in the project, joining a diverse group of six writers, six graphic designers and a NOLA filmmaking ensemble. In line with the project’s theme, proceeds for “Bilocal” will benefit investigative journalism in the Gulf. For more details, follow the link.
