Update: The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) is giving filmmakers participating in its new community film competition, History Is____, free access to as many as five historical images from MOHAI’s digital archive for use in submitted works—but get on it quick! Orders for this free image offer must be placed through MOHAI’s website by 5:00 pm January 31. What’s more, MOHAI has just announced the prizes for winning entries. Competitors have a chance to win some sweet swag, including a change to meet Ken Burns, a scholarship to The Film School, membership to 911 Media Arts Center, a screening of their winning film a SIFF 2011 and up to $2,500 in cold hard cash. History Is___ invites filmmakers to fill in the blank, and tell MOHAI what “History is” to them. For the full scoop on the competition, be sure to check out the above link.
