TheFilmSchool
Founded in 2004 by prestigious filmmakers Jacob Jacobsen, Tom Skerrit and Rick Stevenson and screenwriter Stewart Stern, TheFilmSchool has since been an integral resource for Seattle citizens’ film education. TheFilmSchool is dedicated to their mission of elevating the art of cinematic storytelling through intensive training in screenwriting and directing. The school hosts insightful workshops and lectures with film industry experts and heroes, the majority of which are free and open to the public. These events will continue to flourish thanks to The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation for awarding them a $50,000 grant to ensure programs like Free First Tuesdays at Roy Street Coffee, the Speaker Series and the Caught in the ACT script reading series held at ACT Theatre keep coming on strong.
