SXSW: Film
After making its world premiere at Sundance, locally-made indie, The Catechism Cataclysm, is now set to take on SXSW. The film will screen as part of the 2011 SXSW Film Conference in the “Emerging Visions” showcase, which highlights innovation, creativity and raw talent from rising filmmakers across a variety of film formats. SXSW Film kicks off this Friday, March 11, featuring a diverse program of over 300 works– including provocative documentaries, subversive comedies, DIY narratives, genre standouts and more—over the course of nine days. Competition for entry into the Fest was fierce, and Program curators had to sift through a record-breaking 1,792 submissions to concoct this year’s lineup. More good news for Catechism: IFC Midnight just nabbed the distribution rights for the film, after hailing it as “one of the funniest [comedies they] have seen in ages.” For more info on the film or the Fest, check out the link above!
