King County Public Health
Those working in the nightlife, bar and food service industry can now conveniently apply for and receive a food worker card online. Previously, people had to attend in-person classes held during weekdays at different locations around the city; now the test can be taken at any time. The entire process takes about one hour and includes a short course about food handling. The training is available in eight languages and also a closed caption option for those hard of hearing. Once the test is successfully completed, individuals can print out the food worker card themselves. The cost of the training course and test is $10. The food worker card is a requirement for anyone working in the nightlife, bar and food service industry.
