For the past couple of years, 4Culture has helped arts organizations improve outreach to audiences and better serve their communities with grants to purchase or update specialized equipment. The Arts Cultural Facilities Equipment program has helped improve the quality of stage lights, built computer labs, outfit cinemas with digital projectors, and revamp audio recording equipment. A peer review board evaluated a record 93 applications from all over King County this year. Organizations receiving grants include Seattle Symphony ($2,500 for sheet music and score archive preservation and accessibility), Hollow Earth Radio ($2,500 for a computer lab), Jack Straw Productions ($8,000 for a new recording studio piano), Music Works Northwest ($3,000 for music and technology classes equipment), Seattle Chamber Music Society ($5,000 for a new office phone system), and Three Dollar Bill Cinema ($2,250 for digital projection equipment). See the link above for a full list of recipients.
