Seattle Office of Film + Music

Another Rainy Saturday
The annual EMP Pop conference, which launched in Seattle in 2002, will be taking New York City by storm and debuting at NYU this Spring.  The “far too rare common discussion” is putting out a call for papers on all styles of pop music.  Next year’s conference, themed “Sounds of the City” and presented by New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, and International Association for the Study of Popular Music-US branch gathering, is tinted with metropolitan-meets-music discussions.  Along with the call for presentation proposals are some suggested sub-themes for writers, including, but not limited to, Urban Listening, Cultural Collisions, and The Global Metropolis. Guests include academics, journalists, performers, and dedicated fans.  Proposals should be sent to organizer Eric Weisbard at by Tuesday, November 15.
