FILMMAKERS: DON’T MISS THE TOTALLY STACKED VIDEO CONTEST

CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY 
Local filmmakers and amateur directors are invited to submit a video between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length, incorporating the idea of Seattle Culture (bonus points for any use of the Space Needle), to the Totally Stacked! Video Contest. Entries may include all types of videos, but must be submitted by July 2 to be considered. The contest is organized by The Stranger, Capitol Hill Block Party, and SIFF – and participants will be eligible for a number of prizes, including SIFF passes, Capitol Hill Block Party tickets, and more.



GET CREATIVE FOR THE MOFILM “CANNES LIONS” VIDEO CONTEST

MOFILM presents the Cannes Lions Video Contest, another great opportunity for filmmakers of all calibers to flex their creative muscles and showcase their talent. The Cannes Lions 2011 competition requires filmmakers to choose from a selection of brands and create an original short video advertisement. A variety of companies are participating in the contest including Adobe, Vitamin Water and Microsoft, and each company has its own tailored prompt for video submissions. Winners will receive lavish cash prizes (at least one for each brand), a trip to the 58th International Cannes Festival of Creativity, and an exclusive screening of their video at the MOFILM awards night, as well as the opportunity to meet Jesse Eisenburg, star of The Social Network. There are also special prizes available for student filmmakers, so be sure to specify your academic affiliation. THEFILMSCHOOL AND SIFF ANNOUNCE GREAT AMERICAN SHORT SCREENPLAY CONTEST

TheFilmSchool and Seattle International Film Festival announce the third annual Great American Short Screenplay Contest. In seven pages or less, put your story on the page for a chance at a full-tuition scholarship to TheFilmSchool’s flagship program, the 3-Week-Intensive, an intimate and unique approach to elevating storytelling through the art of film. Additionally, five runners-up will be chosen to receive scholarships to the 3-Week-Intensive. The deadline for submissions is June 18.
