Online Application: Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs Internship
The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs has put out a call for two interns to work closely with its communications team and provide administrative support for the department. Responsibilities include: writing and editing content for the department’s e-newsletter, blog and social media sites; coordinating data collection for a national research study and assisting with office events, including lunchtime concerts at City Hall. Applicants must be enrolled in college, and should be studying arts management, public relations, marketing, communications English, journalism or other related fields. These unpaid internships require a six-month commitment of 20 hours per week, and may be used for academic credit. Candidates must be self-motivated, creative thinkers with excellent communications, organization and research skills with a strong ability to multitask. KEXP is now accepting applications for its quarterly internship program. KEXP internships are available for school credit and offer real world experience in a wide array of broadcast-related fields including: non-profit fundraising, marketing, sales, web design, sound engineering, music programming, project management, database maintenance and much more. Interns are also exposed to vital relationship- building and networking opportunities that will aid in securing future employment in the music industry. SIFF seeks an outgoing, professional individual for a unique internship opportunity. This support position is crucial to the success of more than 50 special events. Leading up to the Festival (May 19 – June 13), primary responsibilities will include procurement of in-kind sponsorship, restaurant trade and gift bag items. Additionally, this position will assist the SIFF Events Manager with all aspects of event planning and implementation during the Festival. The Seattle-based National Film Festival for Talented Youth—or NFFTY as you probably know already— has issued another call for Editorial Interns. The position entails working with NFFTY staff to coordinate, create and edit all content on the new NFFTY website, a premier hub for youth filmmaking news, interviews, films resources and more. The responsibilities of NFFTY’s Editorial Intern include: site maintenance, blogging, researching news stories, organizing content schedules, editing videos, general administrative assistance and more. The position is unpaid and requires a four month commitment for 15 hours per week. Academic course credit may be available for those who qualify. The Vera Project
The Vera Project, Seattle’s all-ages music space, is looking for a new intern. The Booking and Promotions Intern assists The Vera Project’s Booking Manager with all aspects of booking and promotions. This position provides an excellent opportunity to become familiar with an integral part of Vera’s programming operations. The booking and promotions assistant will distribute posters once a week for upcoming shows. They also will work on new and interesting ways of promoting and staying on top of the promotions that already put Vera in the public eye. Promoting shows is very important to Vera and will be an integral part of this position. Priority for this internship will go to someone 16 to 24 years of age. For more information, follow the link.
