Last night, music fans gathered at EMP to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s seminal album, Nevermind. Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic hosted the affair, which saw performances by local bands like The Presidents of the United States of America, The Fastbacks, Ravenna Woods, The Long Winters, and many more paying homage to the album that help put Seattle on the map as a City of Music. The event was also a fundraiser for local luminary Susie Tennant, who is battling ovarian cancer. Above is a video of last night’s concert, which was recorded via livestream.

The former bassist for Nirvana says he has made his point and ended his protest candidacy for a county clerk position in Washington state. Novoselic, who lives in tiny Deep River, is the head of his local chapter of the Grange, a civic organization. His election paperwork for Wahkiakum county clerk declared that he was running under the “Grange Party” banner, even though the Grange isn’t a political party. In his Seattle Weekly blog last Friday, he says his point is “crystal clear: It’s wrong for me to drag a private association unwittingly onto the public ballot.”

Rolling Stone:
Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has some sad news for fans of the grunge icons: There are no more unreleased Nirvana songs. “There’s not going to be any new Nirvana records,” Novoselic told the Washington State’s Legacy Project. “What there is, is video. There’s a lot of video.” Novoselic wouldn’t elaborate the content or nature of the videos, nor did he have any release dates in mind. He did, however, say that he and Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, are no longer on bad terms.
