“It’s all about celebrating the extraordinary talents of our region’s young people and raising awareness for youth music in the Northwest, something that is very close to my heart.” Gerard Schwarz, Conductor, Musical Director Seattle Symphony
Yesterday’s fears about the U-District’s Neptune Theatre closing have subsided now that local non-profit STG (who also owns the Paramount and Moore Theatres) has announced their plans to take over the Neptune. Explains the press release, “’The core of STG’s mission is to make diverse dance, music, film, theatre, and arts education an integral part of our rich cultural identity; by expanding The Neptune’s capacity for increased artistic diversity, STG will not only preserve the historic theatre but also increase options for the community to engage with the arts,’ said Josh LaBelle, STG’s Executive Director.” To read more about how STG will operate Neptune, follow the link.
