Season four of the hit vampire series True Blood hits HBO next week. For fans who just can’t wait that long, the Cinerama will be hosting a free sneak preview of the new season, hosted by HBO and Xfinity. Prizes will be awarded throughout the evening and attendees will get to see the first two episodes of True Blood in their entirety before they air, all on the Cinerama’s state-of-the-art projection system. HGTV: Property Virgins
Home and Garden Television (HGTV) is coming to Seattle for the next season of Property Virgins, a show about folks purchasing homes for the very first time. Real estate guru and host Sandra Rinomato gives the newbies lots of coaching, a number of targeted tours, and a chance to find their dream home. These first-timers get their feet wet and learn to balance their dream home aspirations to fit the reality of the market and their budgets. SUNDANCE CHANNEL UNVEILS VIDEO-ON-DEMAND SERVICE

Cable television’s Sundance Channel on Monday unveiled a video-on-demand service offering documentaries and international films endorsed by Sundance festival founder Robert Redford and often available the same day the movies hit theaters. Sundance Selects will make its debut on August 26 with Spike Lee’s new documentary, Passing Strange: The Movie. The service will be available on cable TV systems owned by three major operators — Comcast Corp, Cox Communications and Cablevision Systems Corp. — reaching as many as 50 million U.S. households.



PEARL JAM BOOKED FOR CONAN O’BRIEN’S “TONIGHT SHOW” DEBUT

Conan O’Brien has recruited Pearl Jam for his first-ever episode as host of The Tonight Show on June 1st, the band revealed on their official Website. According to the post, Eddie Vedder and company will perform songs — plural theirs, not ours — from their upcoming studio album on O’Brien’s inaugural episode, which airs exactly two weeks from today. To quote the first comment on the story over at the Pearl Jam Webpage, “Holy shitballs! This is gonna be awesome!” Agreed. Added bonus: Will Ferrell, who led a star-studded sing-along of Billy Joel’s “Goodnight Saigon” on SNL, will also be on the episode.



STAR TREK: PHOENIX BEGINS PRODUCTION IN SEATTLE

What started out as an idea for a small Star Trek fan production in January of 2008 has, in the space of a year, blossomed into the largest ongoing production in the Puget Sound region and the only series ever to be shot entirely in Seattle and environs.The series is set in a time period of 42 years into the future following the events in the film “Star Trek: Nemesis”.The pilot episode was featured n KING 5’s evening magazine with interviews from cast and crew and behind-the-scene footage from the pilot. Check out the new trailer for MTV’s “The Phone”, which was shot here in Seattle this winter! In each episode of The Phone, four strangers will get a call. Soon after they answer, they’ll be paired off to create two teams that will go head-to-head as they race to survive a potentially deadly game. There’s no studio audience, no wheels to spin and no canned ham behind the curtain.
