The Vera Project
The Vera Project, Seattle’s all-ages music space, is looking for a new intern. The Booking and Promotions Intern assists The Vera Project’s Booking Manager with all aspects of booking and promotions. This position provides an excellent opportunity to become familiar with an integral part of Vera’s programming operations. The booking and promotions assistant will distribute posters once a week for upcoming shows. They also will work on new and interesting ways of promoting and staying on top of the promotions that already put Vera in the public eye. Promoting shows is very important to Vera and will be an integral part of this position. Priority for this internship will go to someone 16 to 24 years of age. For more information, follow the link.

Vera Project’s week-long fundraiser, “A Drink For the Kids” is a series of nights at bars in which a portion of drink proceeds go to Vera Project, capped off by a set from Brite Futures (formerly Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head) at Neumos. Tonight, the drinking begins at West 5. Vera’s got all the details. To help fuel the excitement of the week, Nick Turner, co-director of Vera, spoke to Seattle Weekly about KEXP, vitaminwater, and why we won’t be drinking for the kids at Vera anytime soon. SWAP IT, SPIN IT, BRING IT, SCREEN IT AT VERA THIS WEEKEND

All ages venue, the Vera Project, and Seattle online radio station Hollow Earth Radio, are teaming up to host a holiday fair extravaganza on Saturday December 12th at the Vera Project from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm featuring items for sale from independent Northwest record and cassette labels, silk-screened show poster makers, independent record dealers, and a variety of local craftmakers. Bands will be playing live throughout the day while you browse including: The Foghorns, 1985, June Madrona, Dashel Schueler, Iji, and World History. The “screen-it” part of the fair will include demonstrations by Vera silkscreen instructors. Bring a piece of fabric to practice on, or you can buy white T-shirts at the event.
