A new business deal will allow Ticketmaster to sell concert tickets at hundreds of Walmart stores across the country. To herald the new partnership, Walmart customers will be able to purchase 4-pack ticket bundles for concerts by artists like Journey, Maroon 5, Train, Rascal Flatts, and more until August 15. Business analysis sees the move as Ticketmaster’s attempt to tap into Walmart’s broad customer base and utilize the potential for exclusive content deals and packages. Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard said, “Ticketmaster will continue to work closely with our clients to create exclusive high value offers for Walmart customers.”

In June, news broke that Target stores had secured the exclusive big-box retail rights for Pearl Jam’s upcoming album “Backspacer.” But while Walmart has its own digital music store and Best Buy owns Napster, Target doesn’t have a notable digital music presence. To level the playing field, Target and iTunes announced on Tuesday that the two vendors will team up for a new Target-exclusive section on the iTunes Music Store. Fittingly, the first album that will be offered up in this new pact will be Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer,” due out September 20th.
