Local filmmaker Travis Senger’s short documentary White Lines and the Fever: The Death of DJ Junebug was awarded as a runner-up winner in the Documentary Shorts category at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The film was shot by Sean Porter and edited by Michelle Witten (who also recently edited and co-produced Wheedle’s Groove, the Seattle soul music documentary directed by Jennifer Maas). Additionally, Guy Maddin’s Night Mayor, which was shot by local cinematographer Benjamin Kasulke, won the award for best Experimental Short.
